What is Coaching?

Coaching works best for when you want to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be in your profession and personal life. Coaching will help you design the life you want.  Design a life and career based on who you are and the resources you possess so that you can achieve excellence and create purposeful, extraordinary lives.

We're talking about somebody, your Coach, who knows, not necessarily all the answers, but all the right questions to help you see any problem from the position of your greatest strengths.

Make no mistake. Coaching is not therapy.  Therapy focuses on the past and labeling conditions.  Coaching is all about creating a great future which maximizes your potential in the present and building on your strengths...

Coaching is a synthesis of a mentor who believes in you and will help you set bigger goals for yourself, a manager to break down the goals into 'do-able bits', a personal trainer that will keep you moving along your path and a sports coach to give you feedback to help improve your game.

We will work one-on-one or in a small group with you over an extended period of time.  It takes a few months for you to become a good client and to learn exactly how to coach you.

The work is targeted and focused on your needs.  In addition, the coach is able to make sure you really develop new skills, behavior and habits.

Over this time the coach helps you set goals, provides feedback, perspective, encouragement and new ways of tackling situations.  It's like having someone "running alongside you" in life and work, giving you the extra encouragement, input and insights that can really make a difference to your success.

Parents coach their children into happy, healthy adults.  Friends coach each other to have more confidence in themselves.  Married couples coach each other through the various hurdles of life.

Coaching is all about having someone believe in you and encourage you, about getting valuable feedback, about seeing things from new perspectives and setting your sights on new horizons and goals.

Every successful athlete and performer today has a coach.  Harvey MacKay said on a recent Teleclass that he had more than a dozen coaches for different areas of his life.  A coach makes coaching available to anyone wanting to achieve their best, in any field.  It is a powerful alliance between two people that produces exceptional results.
